Meet, greet and study online!

The Southeast Urantia Gathering Online Discovery Group meets every Sunday evening via Zoom software, which is automatically downloaded the first time used. This is quick and easy; meeting connection is automatic by clicking on the meeting link in email notices. Meetings are identified with a hyper-link with the identification number (ID). The study group meeting is recurring, which means the same invitation and meeting ID is valid for each meeting.
Members of this group seem to love and respect opinions and insights from others which results in no arguments or rebuttals. Deep discussion and efforts to get at deeper meanings seem to help people move to greater understandings and enlightened comprehension. We read and take all the time we need to discuss, sometimes one paragraph. We do attempt to fully address questions to the questioner’s satisfaction. The group has grown, we believe, because of group character contributing to an attractive reputation.
Members are free to come and go at will; some even notify the host-facilitator when they cannot be there and offer regards to the others! That’s nice.
We average 11 per session. We use a raise hand feature to notify the host for recognition before speaking, thus minimizing, or preventing interruptions..
The group is mostly a democratic group without host domination (dictating) for group procedure. Everyone knows they are free to speak. We vote on proposals using informal style; all are aware they have a say in decisions or proposals.
Sunday Evenings
Come join us at 5:30 p.m. Central Time each week for a half hour of social chat and for study beginning at 6:00 p.m. The group usually concludes at 7:30 p.m.
People are free to study any source of choice for seeking truth, but the group focuses only on The Urantia Book.
Heard recently during study group in response to the question, “What the Revelation has done for me?”
“T”, The Revelation is like beautiful artwork. He appreciates it and he trusts it. It is a much more complete revelation of Jesus and it is the true story of Jesus. He is certain his identity is a “follower of Jesus”.
“C” feels more connected when he reads it. The Bible is not culturally connected to the present day, but the UB is more culturally connected. We also see more of Jesus in one-on-one conversation with individuals. The Revelation has made him more open minded and has moved him from ultra conservative to now more moderate in his beliefs.
“R” first heard of the book at age 20 when he was disappointed with academe (traditional teachings). “A light came on” when he was introduced to the book. He’s learned to trust the Father God and says the Father “flipped him”, changed his life. He’s more confident, eager and enjoys greater conviction of truth.
“M” realizes a greater question might be, “What has the UB not done for me?” The Revelation contains answers to questions he didn’t know he had. He realized some Christian details "didn’t quite add up". Expanding his knowledge with study of The Urantia Book has firmed up his faith and he doesn’t worry about what others think (of his faith). He’s more confident in God; he knows what he believes.
“M” considers the Urantia Book as the best of things of all her resources. It has made her less judgmental and has helped her better understand world history. The Lucifer rebellion is better understood for its negative, evil world impact. Positive impacts on her life include better relationships and a new appreciation of the Indwelling Spirit (Thought Adjuster). This new clarity has been life altering with new joy and confidence.
“M” says the book brought new clarity and confidence for personal relationship with God. Each person is loved so much each of us is so highly valued. New concepts of love are revealed showing us we can value one another and love humanity regardless of our errors and faults.
